Pro der? I always thought it was pro da. Anway, I think it is possible for Hollywood to make a big-budget film that is acurate. I can't think of any right now but give me a few years and I think I'll find one or two.

It is far too soon to be even considering making a movie about it. Although I'm sure a documentary will be out for next september. There are very few historic events which were properly portrayed on the screen. Most are a discrace like Pearl Harbor, Titanic or the Patriot and JFK (although it was a good movie). I think Hollywood is going to stay clear from this.

My point is, a movie about September 11 is not inherently distasteful.

A film made right now about it coming out of a production company would only be made to cash in, to get people to watch the movie because this tragedy where 5k people died just happened. It would be all about the money. And bla blah blah well it could be made artistically yadda yadda but no one in Hollywood will back it unless they think they're going to make money, which, of course they would and that seems a bit sick. In my opinion it wouldn't be much better then those Faces of Death videos. Give it a year or two, and make it for the sake of the movie, not just because some big scandalous tragedy happened just recently that you can get attention for by making a shitty film about it, and I don't think there's any problem with that.

What was disgraceful about JFK? It was on the whole based around facts.

as always, science fiction can remove the subject matter far away enough from actual reality but you can still replay the events and explore the various levels of any tragedy.

although TPM was quite a bad movie, it does have a war caused by the imposing of sanctions.
and when Bush decided to cut-off Somalia's telecoms I can just imagine his advisors: "My Lord, is that... legal??!"

Um, I thought everyone knew JFK was made up. It wasn't supposed to be factual, I dont think it ever was intended to be factual. Its a good film BEACUSE its fake.
